Cops 'killed my father,' daughter of Shem Walker rages after identifying his body with family - NY Daily News

This shooting occured nearly three years ago. Shem Walker was a U.S. Army veteran who was unarmed and was fatally shot and killed by a N.Y. undercover policeman. He died outside his mother's apartment.

The family of a Brooklyn man who was shot to death by an undercover cop identified his body Tuesday - and said they wanted justice.
Shem Walker's relatives were filled with sorrow and anger after leaving the medical examiner's office in Brooklyn, three days after the 49-year-old Army veteran was gunned down by a police officer.
"They're in shock. Right now, they're feeling shock about the loss of their loved one. At this point in time, they want to let the facts unfold. What they want is justice," Sanford Rubenstein, one of the family's lawyers.
But Walker's daughter couldn't contain her frustration.
"Those sorry bastards," screamed Shemeka, 22. "They killed my father!"
Police said Walker stumbled into a buy-and-bust operation near his mother's Lafayette Ave. stoop in Clinton Hill. An unwitting Walker confronted the undercover cop.
"There was a fracas, a fight, where the officer ... was struck several times by the deceased," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Tuesday.
The 36-year-old cop, whom police haven't identified, struggled with Walker when the gun went off twice, hitting Walker once in the chest. Kelly said 18 "earwitnesses" only heard cops urge Walker to stand down.
